Intent of this Bible Study

The Bible is the Word of God, and as such it is the basis of this study. God can not Lie, so the Bible can not contradict itself. If this seems to happen, it is our understanding of what the Bible said that is in error. This is what is meant when God says "My ways are not your ways".

Jesus is the Son of God, His words will hold more weight than the apostles.

Jesus said in His Sermon on the Mount, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the prophets: I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5: 17 - 19 NIV.

This study will bring the whole Bible to the table, not just the verses that support a certain agenda.
Only God knows how the end times will come about. Jesus told us to watch the signs, it is these signs we hope to uncover in this study.

The intent of this study is to study the Bible to try to understand what God is saying to us; not to try to force God's Word into one of the schools of thought on end times. We will try to explore all schools on the basis of what God says instead of the other way around! I believe this to be a fresh approach.

God asked us to study His Word and meditate on it. We will try to come from this idea.

You can see these are some pretty lofty ideals. We will be up for the task with God's help.

New Study starting June 7, 2009

We will be studying primarily the Book of Daniel, its place in history already taken place and how it fits with what Jesus and St. John have said. We will try to focus on Bible only on Sunday Nights from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. We will be meeting at the First Baptist Church of Alhambra 101 South Atlantic in Alhambra.

ISA 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

Daniel 2:28

28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.

DT 29:29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

MT 24:29 "Immediately after the distress of those days

" `the sun will be darkened,

and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

MT 24:30 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
