63rd Post Prophecy on Great & Terrible Day of the Lord - My Comments

Old Testament prophets talked about the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord. When I was a child, I had trouble with this statement. How could one day be both Great and Terrible? During my journey of Bible study over the years, I still kept stumbling over that phrase. The Old Testament prophets seemed to dwell on the Terrible part of that phrase, so I came to the conclusion that the Great part must be the degree of terribleness. I held this understanding, until I started studying the New Testament and trying to discern the "signs" that Jesus told us to know about, and watch for to understand the End of the Age. The Apostle Paul said that he was a Pharisees' Pharisee, I understood that Paul was a devout Jew, and remained true to his knowledge of the Old Testament. His understanding of the Old Testament is what changed. Paul clearly understood all of the Old Testament prophecies, and never would have gone against what they said. The Letters written to the Church of Thessaloniki were to correct misunderstandings that the people of Thessaloniki had after Paul had preached on the End of the Age. This is why exegesis and hermenutics are so important to get right. Apostle Paul would have not taught anything that would contradict anything the Scriptures had taught previously.
